RE: Sanwa/Airtronics USA/Canada SD-10G RF-Board

Conditions: This only concerns Airtronics Brand SD-10G owners and only in
this region. This only applies to the following serial numbers. (Located
on the inside surface of the battery door.) If your radio’s serial number
is not within this group, your radio is not affected.

IF YOU PURCHASED YOUR RADIO AFTER NOV 17, 2010 FROM AIRTRONICS, HOBBY PEOPLE, OR GLOBALHOBBY, YOUR RADIO IS UPDATED EVEN IF IT IS LISTED BELOW. IF YOU PURCHASED YOUR RADIO FROM A DEALER AFTER THIS DATE, YOUR RADIO SHOULD BE UPDATED AS WELL. YOU CAN CHECK BY CONTACTING OUR SERVICE DEPT.

Details: In the USA, a small number of SD-10G users have reported
momentary loss of signal when using the SD-10G in FHSS-1 modulation
typically in crowded environments. While very small, it is still
concerning to Airtronics.

This has resulted in Sanwa/Airtronics researching these events, and now we are offering a free update to those affected SD-10G owners (see serial number list, above).

For any SD-10G owner with radios that fall within the named serial number range in the USA or Canada who would like this upgrade, please return the radio to Airtronics with an official return authorization sheet filled out completely (see page 2 of the PDF). When you return your radio with the form you will not require any further return authorization.

Airtronics Service in California, USA will perform this update. The update is a small change to the RF board. Unfortunately this update requires the work of a qualified service technician and cannot properly be performed by the owner.

NOTE: Your radio’s model memory and setup is not affected by this RF board update.


While Airtronics has your radio, a certified technician will test it for
proper operation and then return it to you. The cost of this upgrade
service and parts are free and we will ship the radio back to you via
economy/ground shipping at no charge.
